A woman who pulled a horse’s tail at a Bay Area ranch, causing a young boy to fall off, has been identified and arrested after a community-wide effort to uncover her identity. The suspect’s actions were caught on camera, leading to her location and arrest by authorities. The boy’s mother expressed frustration that the woman was released on bail just three hours after her arrest.
The boy’s mother, Meri Fuerte, shared the difficulties her family has faced since her son’s fall, including taking time off work to be with him and speak with detectives. The incident occurred at Ocean View Stables, where the business manager emphasized strict safety guidelines to prevent horses from becoming startled. Despite their efforts to find the woman on the trail after the incident, she had already fled the scene.
Fuerte’s son suffered swelling in his right ankle as a result of the fall, and she believes the entire incident could have been avoided. The community had been actively seeking information on the woman responsible for the dangerous incident, and authorities were able to track her down and take her into custody.
