Wild Horses in Kyle Canyon Being Relocated Due to Dangerous Human Interactions

A herd of seven wild horses, including a new foal, will be relocated from the Mt. Charleston area due to increasing incidents of dangerous human interactions with the animals. The CEO of Wild Fire’s Wild and Free Mustangs, Kim Donohue, will take the horses to her rescue in Boulder City. The decision to remove the horses comes after several concerning incidents, including a young girl being kicked in the head by a horse and a boy being kicked in Kyle Canyon.

The problem has been exacerbated by people feeding the wild horses, causing them to become comfortable around humans and approach vehicles on the road. Donohue witnessed horses running into traffic and sticking their heads inside cars to beg for food. Approaching wild horses, no matter how docile they may appear, puts both people and animals at risk of injury or worse, emphasizing the importance of proper wildlife etiquette.

The rescue team is waiting for the foal to get older before safely transporting the herd to Boulder City. Donations to support the rescue can be made through their social media accounts. The article highlights the dangers of interacting with wild animals and the need to respect their space for the safety of both humans and animals.
