West Oxfordshire District Council approved changes to the riding arena at Soho Farmhouse, a members’ club and hotel in Great Tew, near Chipping Norton. The changes include replacing two tennis courts with three padel courts and extending the gym building.

Soho Farmhouse stated that the changes to the riding arena are crucial for maintaining and enhancing the equestrian facilities at the venue. The new riding arena will accommodate a new swimming pool and changing facilities for children under 16, reflecting the commitment to providing diverse amenities for guests and members.

The new riding arena will provide a safe space for younger and inexperienced riders, while also ensuring that equestrian activities remain a valued part of the leisure options available to both members and hotel guests. Other applications, such as alterations to stable courtyard buildings, are still under consideration by the council.
