Welsh Section B Stallion Heniarth Top of the Morning Shines at South Africa Horse of the Year Show

Welsh section B stallion, Heniarth Top of the Morning, returned to the show ring in South Africa and was named overall Welsh and overall general champion in hand. The 12-year-old stallion was exported to South Africa as a yearling and is now owned by Zadia Mostert Schutte of the Brynmore stud. Top is known for his conformation and temperament, and has already produced his first foal.

Top comes from a family of successful ponies, including a full brother who was a past Royal Welsh champion. Top’s full sister, Ting-a-Ling, was a leading Section B dam at the Royal Welsh, and another sister, Toodle-oo, was the dam of a champion in 2023. Despite being exported from Wales, Top has made a name for himself as a sire of special children’s ponies.

Top was bred by Richard Miller and Meirion Davies and has proven himself as a successful sire. Although it was difficult to part with him, his success in South Africa has been a source of pride for his breeders. Top’s ability to produce quality offspring has solidified his reputation as a valuable stallion.
