The North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association offers therapeutic equine programming to individuals with physical, mental, emotional, or social challenges. Volunteers are essential to running the programs at the Maple Ridge center, and the association is seeking more volunteers to donate their time.
Equine therapy provides unique benefits that other therapies may not offer, addressing a range of disabilities and providing therapy for autism. Participants can experience improved balance, coordination, muscle strength, and increased self-confidence and self-esteem through horseback riding.
Individuals interested in volunteering are asked to commit to a minimum of two hours per week, with no prior horse experience necessary as training will be provided. For more information on volunteering, contact the association at [email protected] or 604-462-7786.
