US Equestrian Annual Meeting 2025: Celebrating Success and Setting Goals for the Future

During the 2025 US Equestrian Annual Meeting, President Tom O’Mara and CEO Bill Moroney emphasized the importance of horse welfare and safety, highlighting the success of the U.S. Para dressage Team at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The theme of the meeting was “It’s All About the Horse,” focusing on the industry’s dependency on horses and the need to prioritize their well-being. The meeting also reviewed the progress made in 2024, shared the new Strategic Plan, and outlined key initiatives for 2025 through 2028.

In 2024, US Equestrian focused on areas such as social license and sustainability, participation and fan engagement, visibility through media partnerships, maximizing data insights, protecting horse and human athletes, and delivering excellence on the field of play. Efforts were made to address horse welfare issues, increase fan engagement, and grow participation in equestrian sports. The organization also welcomed new sponsors and saw positive financial results, allowing for reinvestment in the sport and membership.

The Strategic Plan for 2025-2028 aims to strengthen operational excellence, sustain the framework of organized sport, focus on competitive excellence and athlete resources, invest in new initiatives and products, and leverage diverse stories of horses and humans. Initiatives include the US Equestrian Open, a major championship concept, and a marketing campaign highlighting the importance of horse welfare. The plan also includes efforts to support athletes, expand coach development programs, and promote equestrian sport to a wider audience.
