Unacceptable Performances and Racing Incidents: A Closer Look at the Recent Race Results

Several horses in the race experienced various incidents, including being steadied away from other horses, jumping awkwardly, racing wide without cover, and making contact with the barrier. Some jockeys expressed concern with their mount’s performance, leading to veterinary inspections that did not show significant findings. Horses that finished tailed out, such as FRUITY WARRIOR and GOLDEN FAIRY, were deemed to have unacceptable performances and will need to undergo barrier trials and veterinary examinations before being allowed to race again.

Jockey R Moore could offer no excuse for the disappointing performance of SMASHING EXPRESS, while jockey L Ferraris expressed concern with FRUITY WARRIOR’s action during the race. Jockey A Badel also could not explain GOLDEN FAIRY’s poor performance in the Home Straight. Jockey M Chadwick’s mount, MR ALADDIN, lost ground after making contact with the barrier, while jockey D McDonogh’s mount, NICE BIRDIE, was sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3, FURY AND GOLD, was withdrawn from the race due to a left front tendon injury, as ordered by the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. The horse will need to undergo an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. Overall, the Racing Incident Report highlighted various incidents and performances that will require further evaluation and testing before the horses can compete again.
