Transforming Lives: South London Equestrian Centre Receives £30,000 Donation from Omaze

Ebony Horse Club in Brixton, South London, is receiving a £30,000 donation from Omaze to expand its youth program that teaches inner-city teens how to ride and care for horses. The club has been transforming young lives for nearly 30 years by providing a safe space for up to 180 youngsters every week to build confidence, develop life skills, and stay on a positive path toward a brighter future.

The donation will allow Ebony Horse Club to double the number of teenagers it supports, offering more opportunities for internships and paid employment. The club, founded in 1996, provides a unique experience for young people who may not have access to horses or horse riding otherwise. The club’s Chief Operating Officer, Sid Holdsworth, emphasized the importance of providing a safe space for young people in Brixton, where there has been increasing youth violence and poverty.

Omaze’s President, James Oakes, praised Ebony Horse Club for its transformational impact on teenagers facing challenges growing up. The donation from Omaze will empower the club to continue changing lives and providing opportunities for young people in the community. The Queen has also shown support for the charity horse-riding club by meeting young people from the club at Ascot earlier this year.
