Titanium Emperor Triumphs in Dundalk’s Patton Stakes

Titanium Emperor won the US$41,500 Patton, a one-mile points race on the Europe and Middle East road to Kentucky Derby 2025, earning 20 points towards qualifying for the race at Churchill Downs. Mount Kilimanjaro, who finished third, was the only nominee to the Triple Crown in the race. The race will be followed by the Grade 2 UAE Derby, which is likely to produce the one horse who will use the invitation to Kentucky.

Titanium Emperor, ridden by jockey David Egan, won the race by three lengths after dueling with Mount Kilimanjaro for the lead early on. Spicy Margarita finished second, with Mount Kilimanjaro coming in third. The winning time was 1:38.23 without a run-up, and Titanium Emperor paid $11.00 and $4.00 for the win.

Titanium Emperor is owned by Kia Joorabchian’s AMO Racing and was bred in Ireland by Sunderland Holding. The bay colt is by Night of Thunder out of Sea the Stars mare My Titania and was purchased as a yearling for around $300,000. The next race on the Euro-Mideast trail is the Grade 2 UAE Derby, which is expected to produce the horse that will use the invitation to the Kentucky Derby.
