The VIP Volunteer: Cathy Hale’s Love for Adventure and Volunteering Shines Bright in 2024

Cathy Hale, a top volunteer in Area III for 2024, accumulated 382 volunteer hours and ranked fourth nationally among eventing volunteers. She has a passion for travel and adventure, having worked as a travel agent for over 30 years. Hale’s love for horses led her to volunteer at various equestrian events, where she has gained valuable knowledge and experience in eventing.

Despite not owning a horse, Hale’s diverse equestrian background includes natural horsemanship, endurance, and Thoroughbreds. She is driven by a desire to understand the equine brain and build trusting partnerships with horses. Volunteering has made the horse world accessible to her, allowing her to learn from experts and immerse herself in the equestrian community.

Hale’s volunteering career began at a young age and has included work with organizations like the American Red Cross and United Way. She believes in the power of volunteering to connect with others and make a positive impact. Through the USEA Volunteer Incentive Program, volunteers like Hale are recognized for their dedication and hard work in supporting the sport of eventing.
