Edward Plesa Jr. comes from a racing family and began working with horses at a young age. He started his training career at 19 and eventually moved into administrative roles before returning to training due to his passion for working directly with horses.
Plesa has had a successful career in horse racing, with notable achievements such as running in the Derby, finishing second in the Preakness, and winning over 2,500 races. He has worked with various Thoroughbreds, including Itsmyluckyday, who became a multiple grade stakes winner and earned $1.7 million.
Plesa finds the greatest joy in developing young talent and has had success with 2-year-olds in the Florida Sire Stakes. He believes that all horses have the potential to be champions, regardless of their purchase price, and enjoys the unpredictability and challenge of working with young horses.
