After being inspired by the 2022 Kentucky Derby, Brad Kinsell and Kelly Mahoney decided to venture into racehorse ownership, despite lacking experience with Thoroughbreds. They purchased broodmares at the Keeneland sale and revived an old horse farm in Ocala, now named Victoriam Farm. Their first horse, Stone Silent, won three races in a row, sparking their passion for horse racing.
Encouraged by their initial success, Kinsell and Mahoney focused on bloodline selection for their foals and continued to invest in the racing industry. They purchased another filly, Just a Care (Ire), who also won her first race. The partners are committed to building a sustainable breeding program and business for the long term, with the hope of involving future generations in their venture.
Kinsell and Mahoney have found support and success in Florida, where they have received overwhelming community support and guidance from advisors. They plan to continue racing and breeding high-quality horses, aiming for long-term sustainability and involvement of their children and grandchildren in the business. Their journey into racehorse ownership has been marked by early success and a commitment to building a solid foundation for the future.
