The 2025 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event (K3DE) kicks off with a day filled with dressage competitions for both the four- and five-star fields. The CCI4*-S competition begins at 8:00 a.m. EST with Lisa Barry and her Irish Sport Horse mare leading the 58-horse field. Buck Davidson and his Irish Sport Horse gelding will be the final pair to compete in the four-star test today. Five-star competition starts at 1:30 p.m. EST with Tim Price and his Dutch Warmblood gelding being the first of 17 pairs to perform.
Horses and riders in the CCI4-S will perform the 2025 FEI CCI4 Test C, while those in the CCI5*-L will perform the FEI Five-Star Test C. Live scores and ride times for both competitions can be found online. Updates will be posted on Instagram, and exclusive USEA apparel can be purchased at their booth. Additionally, a course walk is available for those interested in getting an early look at the cross-country course.
