Talladega Woman Killed in Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash in Coosa County

A 63-year-old Talladega woman, Janice W. Bullard, was killed in a single-vehicle crash late Tuesday night in Coosa County, Alabama. The crash occurred when the 2015 Chrysler 200 she was a passenger in struck a horse standing in the roadway on U.S. 231 near the 181 mile marker. After hitting the horse, the Chrysler veered off the road and hit a large rock.

Bullard was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and another passenger in the vehicle were also injured and taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. The crash happened around 11:40 p.m., about eight miles south of Rockford.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating the incident. This tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of wearing seat belts while driving to prevent serious injuries and fatalities in the event of a crash.
