Suspected Drug Perp Chased by Sheriffs on Horseback in Jacksonville

In Jacksonville, Florida, a suspected drug perpetrator named Jordan Wilson was chased by sheriff’s officers on horseback after a suspicious narcotics handoff. The chase, caught on bodycam footage, showed Wilson running on foot while the mounted officers pursued him through streets and parking lots. Despite warnings to stop, Wilson continued to flee until he was eventually caught and arrested.

The officers, including JSO Officer Cassie Haire on her horse Nash, were determined to catch Wilson, who was warned that he wouldn’t be able to outrun the horses. The chase lasted for one-quarter of a mile before Wilson finally surrendered and was taken into custody. Wilson was charged with resisting an officer without violence and has since been released.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office praised the efforts of the Mounted Unit, including horses Jaxx, Judge, and Duke, for ensuring that justice was served. The officers involved in the chase did not give up until Wilson was apprehended, demonstrating the effectiveness of using horses in law enforcement pursuits.
