Sprawling Virginia Equestrian Ranch with Colonial Revival Home Up for Auction

A 435-acre Virginia equestrian ranch in the Hunt Country region is set to be auctioned, with bids expected to start between $5 million to $9 million. The property includes a main Colonial Revival-style home with six bedrooms and seven baths, wide-plank walnut floors, and four marble fireplaces. The estate also features a wood-paneled library, a banquet-sized dining room, and a kitchen with stainless Viking appliances.

The landscaped grounds of the property include a 60-foot pool, a pool house, a two-story office, a three-bedroom guesthouse, a farm manager’s house, a custom greenhouse, a five-bay garage, and an eight-stall barn with a one-bedroom apartment. Additionally, there are fenced pastures, spring-fed ponds, and a historic log cabin on the estate. The property is jointly offered by John Coles of Thomas & Talbot Estate Properties and Laura Farrell of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, with Concierge Auctions handling the sale.

The estate consists of two tax parcels protected by an easement with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. The auction for the property runs from Jan. 16 to Jan. 29, with the compound offering plenty of room to spread out among multiple structures surrounded by horse-centric amenities. The property is located about 50 miles outside of Washington, D.C., in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
