Trained by Whit Beckman, Simply Joking showed potential early on and went on to win the $150,000 Silverbulletday Stakes in her second career start, earning 20 qualifying points for the Kentucky Oaks.
Despite the rainy conditions at Fair Grounds, Simply Joking led all the way in the one-mile-and-70-yard Silverbulletday Stakes, showing promise for bigger races ahead. Beckman plans to keep Simply Joking and her stablemate Her Laugh apart for now, with Her Laugh targeting the Martha Washington Stakes at Oaklawn.
