Revitalized Germantown Shop Reopens with Fresh New Design

After almost six decades, a beloved Germantown shop in Exeter Village has reopened with a fresh new design by Lana Knight, Laura Beth Liddon, and Emily Knight. The trio purchased the business three years ago, which originally opened in 1967 as part of a franchise location of Shop of John Simmons. The store was renamed “The Gift Horse” as a nod to Germantown’s equestrian heritage.

The previous owners of The Gift Horse struggled with a name change from “The Gift House” to something that felt more fitting. Ultimately, they settled on “The Gift Horse” to better represent the store’s connection to Germantown’s equestrian history. The business has never looked better since its reopening under the new ownership of Lana Knight, Laura Beth Liddon, and Emily Knight.
