Revamping the VFW: Commander Peter Amoroso Transforms Banquet Hall at Cross Keys Post 6332

Commander Peter Amoroso and Adjutant Gen. Bruce Wm. Taneski have been preparing the banquet hall at the new headquarters of Cross Keys VFW Post 6332 in Williamstown, which was formerly known as Williamstown VFW Post 1616. The new post has made improvements to the hall, including a fresh coat of paint and lighting changes, and is excited to serve the community of Monroe Township.

The charter for Armistice VFW Post 1616 was revoked by the state VFW headquarters due to numerous violations of New Jersey law and operating outside of the VFW’s constitution and bylaws. Post 6332 has taken over day-to-day operations at the former post 1616 building, which has been renamed Cross Keys Post 6332. An investigation revealed violations of liquor and gambling laws, tax liabilities, and financial improprieties at the former post.

The new Cross Keys Post 6332 is working to raise funds through banquet hall rentals to eventually purchase the building. The hall will not serve alcohol, and customers must acquire liability insurance for events. The post plans to continue successful programs for students in Williamstown, including Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen, and invites eligible veterans and former post 1616 members to join their meetings.
