Dark Horse, a seal rescued in Guernsey, has joined two other seals named Swish and Fireworks who were rescued in March. Dark Horse was found dehydrated and with severe diarrhea, requiring 24-hour care upon arrival. Head of marine mammals Geoff George emphasized the importance of their care in saving the pups’ lives.
GSPCA manager Steve Byrne stated that all three seal pups are improving daily, thanks to the care they are receiving. Due to the need for new seal facilities, the GSPCA reached out to the RSPCA in the UK for assistance. The rescue and rehabilitation efforts are crucial in ensuring the well-being and survival of these vulnerable seal pups.
The GSPCA’s dedication to providing round-the-clock care for sick seal pups like Dark Horse, Swish, and Fireworks highlights the importance of rescue and rehabilitation efforts. Without the intervention of organizations like the GSPCA and RSPCA, these pups would not have survived. The ongoing improvements in the health of the seal pups demonstrate the positive impact of their care and the commitment of those involved in their rehabilitation.
