Rescue Team Saves Trapped Horse with Harness in Tennessee

First responders in Tennessee rescued a horse trapped in a hole by the highway using a harness and heavy machinery. The horse, named Jack, was found trapped against a large rock in a drainage ditch on Culleoka Highway. The Williamson County Fire Large Animal Rescue Team was called in to assist in the rescue.

The rescue team used a harness fastened underneath the horse’s legs to lift it up with heavy machinery and bring it to safety. Jack was out of the hole and on the ground in about an hour and fifteen minutes, with no injuries found by a veterinarian. The horse was cooperative during the rescue, despite being scared and kicking at times.

Before the specialized rescue team arrived, a local heavy equipment company attempted to carve a path for the horse to exit, but the horse was unable to stand up and walk out due to its age. The rescue was successful thanks to the efforts of the first responders and the specialized team, ensuring Jack’s safety and well-being.
