Rescue Efforts for Animals Displaced by Southern California Wildfires

The Pasadena Humane Society has been overwhelmed with over 400 animals arriving since the Southern California wildfires began. Animals like Canela, a pitbull mix, have been found injured and in need of medical treatment. The organization has shifted from temporary sheltering to a longer-term situation as more animals are brought in and their owners have nowhere to return to.

The Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank has taken in around 400 animals, mostly horses and some donkeys, due to the wildfires. Some animals were brought in by owners who evacuated their homes, while others were found running loose by law enforcement. The center has been supported by volunteers and donations, providing care and supplies for the animals and their owners during this crisis.

The community has come together to support both the Pasadena Humane Society and the Los Angeles Equestrian Center during this disaster. Animals like a severely burned Husky and injured peacocks are receiving care, while efforts are being made to provide water to animals stranded by the fires. The response to the wildfires has shown the resilience and compassion of the community in the face of this ongoing disaster.
