Remembering Madlen Boy: A Tragic Loss in the Equestrian World

The equestrian world is mourning the loss of 19-year-old rider Madlen Boy, who tragically passed away after suffering a fall in training on 6 March. Despite efforts from first aid and emergency services, she died from her injuries.

Madlen was described as a talented rider and a cheerful, helpful, and engaging person by Katharina Gausmann, chairwoman of the Show Jumping Committee at PSV Hannover. Her former youth coach, Jorg Munzner, paid an emotional tribute to her, highlighting her positive qualities and the impact she had on those around her.

Munzner expressed his deep sadness over Madlen’s passing, remembering her as a wonderful and impressive young lady who was good-natured, cheerful, warm, compassionate, serious, focused, determined, and self-critical. He will always remember her cheerful greetings and finds it difficult to put into words the tragic loss of such a promising young talent.
