Remembering Frankie Jay Buchman: A Life Dedicated to Horses and Community

Frankie Jay Buchman, a beloved member of the Alta Vista, Kansas community, passed away at the age of 73. He had a passion for horses and ranching, starting his own operation with his wife Margaret Mary after graduating from Kansas State University. Frankie was also known for his work as an editor, photographer, and advertising salesman for Grass & Grain for over 36 years.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Frankie was actively involved in various horse show organizations and clubs, as well as serving on boards and teaching CCD classes at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a dedicated member of the Kansas Horse Council, Morris County 4-H Foundation, and other community organizations. Frankie is survived by his wife, children, grandson, and many other family members and friends.

A visitation and rosary will be held in his honor at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial following the next day. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to various organizations that were important to Frankie. His legacy as a cowboy, rancher, and community leader will be remembered by all who knew him.
