Remembering Francis Matthew Rudell: A Life of Community Involvement and Passion for Horses and Cars

Francis Matthew Rudell, 82, of Oakley, KS passed away on December 6th, 2024. He was born in Russell Springs, KS and married Pamela Rudell in 1961. He was involved in various associations and boards, including the American Quarter Horse Association, Gove County Business Leadership Committee, and the Oakley Fair Board.

Francis was deeply involved in his community, serving on the USD #291 School Board, leading the Hi-Plains 4-H Club, and being a member of the Fort Wallace Mounted Drill Team. He enjoyed horses, classic cars, and raising and showing horses with his wife. He was also a Boy Scout Den leader and instructor for Hunters Safety courses.

A memorial service for Francis will be held on December 13th, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in Oakley. The family will receive friends on December 12th at Baalmann Mortuary. Memorials can be made to the Dorothy Yardley Cancer Fund.
