Remembering Domini Morgan: The Pioneer of British Dressage

Domini Morgan, a pioneer of British dressage, passed away at the age of 99. She was the oldest living British Olympian and made significant contributions to the sport, competing in the Olympics and winning numerous national and international competitions. Domini also became a renowned international dressage judge with the FEI, coaching and judging riders around the world.

Born in 1925, Domini was part of the first all-women team to compete in dressage at the Olympics in 1968, where she placed 11th individually. She continued to compete with her beloved horse, San Fernando, and won the Horse of the Year dressage event five years in a row. Domini’s passion for horses and dedication to supporting young dressage riders left a lasting impact on the equestrian community.

Domini’s love for horses was shared with her stepfather, who was a key figure in her upbringing. Later in life, she found happiness in marriage to Arnold Morgan. Domini’s legacy lives on through the advice and encouragement she provided to young riders, as well as the Olympic dressage pin she passed down to her great-niece. Her contributions to the sport of dressage and her support for young riders will be remembered for years to come.
