Betty passed away peacefully at the Northcott Care Facility in Ponoka, Alberta. She was born in Medicine Hat and lived in Govenlock, Saskatchewan before moving to a farm north of Cochrane, Alberta where she met her husband, Bob. Betty enjoyed farm life, spending time in the field, garden, barn, and riding her horse.
Betty had a passion for cattle penning and ladies ranch rodeos, finding joy in horsemanship, competition, and time spent with family and friends. She competed in her last ranch rodeo at 79 years old, riding her horse Chex. Betty was predeceased by her husband, parents, sister, and various other family members.
Betty is lovingly remembered by her daughter, granddaughter, great-grandchildren, sister, brother, and various other family members. A thank you was extended to the staff at Wetaskiwin Hospital Unit 33 and Northcott Care Facility for their compassionate care. In lieu of a service, donations can be made to the Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation in Betty’s name.
