Remembering Anne Macaulay: A Life Well-Lived

Anne Macaulay passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025 at The Hamlets at Duncan. She was born in Exeter, England and moved to Canada in 1959 to pursue a nursing career. Anne settled in Duncan and became the Head Nurse of the Maternity Ward at the Cowichan District Hospital, where she helped many with her medical knowledge.

Anne was not only a dedicated nurse, but also a talented athlete. She enjoyed cycling, racquetball, skiing, and later in life, horseback riding. She was a volunteer and chairperson at Duncan’s Therapeutic Riding Association, showing her love for horses and nature. Anne was also a devoted mother to her two sons, Bruce and Callum.

Anne’s family and friends are grateful for the support of medical professionals during her final year. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Anne’s memory and the impact she had on those around her.
