Record-Breaking Attendance at National Western Stock Show MLK Jr. Weekend Promises Excitement for All

The National Western Stock Show, presented by CommonSpirit Health, had a record-breaking opening Saturday with 59,520 guests, surpassing the previous year’s high. The MLK Jr. Holiday Weekend promises even more excitement with thrilling rodeos, horse shows, and family-friendly entertainment. 90 percent of events are held indoors, allowing visitors to enjoy the festivities regardless of the weather.

Paul Andrews, President & CEO of NWSS, encourages the community to join in on the weekend’s activities, which include 10 pro rodeos, the MLK Jr. African American Heritage rodeo, horse shows, and crowd favorites like the Wild West Show and Xtreme Dog Show. Free parking at Coors Field with heated shuttles is available for visitors, making transportation to the National Western Complex easy and convenient. Events originally scheduled in the Ames Activity Pavilion have been relocated to the main building for the weekend.

The Coors Field parking lots open daily at 8 a.m., with shuttles providing a quick 10-minute ride to the National Western Complex. The 119th NWSS runs through January 26, offering grounds admission and event tickets online at nationalwestern.com. This is a great opportunity to celebrate Colorado’s legendary Western tradition with a variety of activities for all ages.
