Record Attendance and Exciting Initiatives at the 2025 National Equine Forum

The 2025 National Equine Forum saw record attendance both in-person and through livestream, with industry leaders discussing various equestrian-related initiatives and the importance of equine health and welfare. Sessions covered topics such as the art and science of feeding horses, the importance of safe feed and forage, and updates on equine health issues like equine grass sickness and atypical myopathy.

The event also addressed legislative progress and challenges in the equine industry, including discussions on equine identification, biosecurity, and disease surveillance. The importance of implementing a digital equine ID and traceability system was emphasized, along with the need for collaboration and education to improve equine welfare and address issues like overbreeding and neglect.

Additional sessions focused on the benefits of Equine Assisted Services (EAS) and the transformative power of horses in improving the lives of individuals, particularly young people. The event concluded with the presentation of the Sir Colin Spedding Award to Di Arbuthnot for her dedication to racehorse welfare, with a closing address from HRH The Princess Royal thanking sponsors and supporters for making the event possible.
