Promising Horses to Watch: Hall of Fame and Owen Almighty on the Rise

Hall of Fame, a promising horse trained by Steve Asmussen, has made a strong comeback after a long layoff, winning a one-mile allowance at Churchill Downs and a 1 1/16-mile $50,000 allowance optional claimer at Fair Grounds. He earned a 103 Beyer Speed Figure in his last race and looks ready to rejoin the graded stakes ranks this winter.

Owen Almighty, a standout 2-year-old male in 2024, is set to make his 3-year-old debut in the seven-furlong Pasco at Tampa Bay Downs. After a strong start to his career, he faltered in his graded stakes debut due to a gastrointestinal infection, but has since returned to the work tab and looks ready to compete.

In 2025, horses on J. Keeler Johnson’s watch list have recorded 7 starts, with 2 wins, 3 seconds, and 2 thirds, resulting in a 29 percent win rate and a 100 percent in-the-money rate. These horses have shown promise and potential for success in upcoming races.
