Pierce County 4-H Hippology Team Shines at Western National Roundup in Denver

The Pierce County 4-H Hippology senior team, coached by Barb Rice, achieved great success at the Western National Roundup in Denver, with team members taking first, second, and third places in the individual competition. In the team portion, they placed seventh out of 13 teams. The team answered questions on various aspects of horse care, such as genetics, pest control, and health, and collaborated to respond to industry-wide policy questions.

Despite taking seventh place in the “team problem” category, the team excelled in every other category, winning first place. Coach Barb Rice, who has been coaching the team for about seven years, was proud of their hard work and dedication. The team members had practiced extensively and participated in numerous contests to prepare for the national competition.

The team’s success at the Western National Roundup was a result of their dedication to practicing and competing in various contests. Coach Barb Rice, who volunteered to coach the team due to her love for teaching and horses, was pleased with their performance and proud of their achievements.
