The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) recently donated 500 ChariTimba food packs to Paluan, Occidental Mindoro, in an effort to assist those in need. The donation was personally handed over by PCSO Director Jennifer Guevara to Paluan Mayor Abelardo Pangilinan, with the aim of helping marginalized families in the fourth-class municipality.
Paluan, which relies on agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock raising for livelihood, will distribute the food packs to those most in need in the community. Mayor Pangilinan expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting that it will allow families to allocate their limited budget for other essential needs aside from food. The donation is part of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which aims to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged communities.
Through initiatives like supporting the horse racing industry and providing direct assistance to communities, PCSO continues to demonstrate its commitment to public service. By prioritizing social welfare programs and fostering partnerships, the agency plays a key role in both the sports and charity sectors, ensuring that its efforts positively impact more Filipinos.
