Ny Traffic, Son of Cross Traffic, Begins Stud Career in Pennsylvania

Ny Traffic, the son of Thoroughbred sire Cross Traffic, has arrived in Pennsylvania to start his stud career at Boggs Shoemaker’s Timber Ridge Farm in Felton. Despite his successful racing career, Ny Traffic’s presence in Pennsylvania is not expected to increase commute times. Owner John Fanelli believes Ny Traffic’s versatility and ability to race across five seasons will make a significant impact in the breeding shed.

Fanelli purchased Ny Traffic for $22,000 after his reserve was not met at a sale in Maryland. The introductory stud fee for Ny Traffic is $3,500, which Fanelli considers a great value. Cross Traffic, Ny Traffic’s sire, has already had success in Pennsylvania, producing horses like Neecie Marie and Jaywalk. Fanelli believes Ny Traffic possesses qualities like durability, distance, and surface adaptability that make him a valuable breeding prospect.

Ny Traffic’s racing career included a near win against Authentic in the Grade 1 Haskell at Monmouth Park. Despite finishing eighth in the Kentucky Derby, Ny Traffic’s performance was considered respectable. With Ny Traffic now starting his stud career in Pennsylvania, there is anticipation for the impact he will have on the breeding industry in the region.
