Bramham will no longer host the British Eventing BE80 national championships due to viability issues, with the event now set to take place at Chillington Hall’s fixture from May 31 to June 1. BE chief executive Rosie Williams expressed gratitude to Bramham for their support over the past three years and announced the move to the new venue. Chillington Hall has previously hosted BE80 and BE90 U18 championships and regional championships, and will now host the national classes from BE80 to novice.
Bramham event director Nicholas Pritchard expressed gratitude for hosting the BE national championships over the past three years and acknowledged the volunteer army that helped with the event. Despite exploring all options, Bramham could not find a solution to make the BE80 competition financially viable alongside their international event. Chillington Hall, with supportive landowners and an experienced organizing team, is excited to host the prestigious championships and aims to grow the venue to host more prestigious competitions.
Chillington Hall organizer Vicky Plant expressed excitement at being given the responsibility of hosting the prestigious championships and has long-term aspirations to grow the venue as a replacement for Weston Park. The Chillington fixture will run on the same weekend as the BE Anyone Can Event (ACE) championships at Aintree International Equestrian Centre, with plans to enhance the event experience for both competitors and spectators by increasing features and trade stands.
