Navigating the Unusual Clash of Major Horse Racing Events: Dubai World Cup and Grand National on April 5

The Dubai World Cup card is being held a week later than usual due to Ramadan, leading to a clash with the Grand National. Efforts have been made to ensure race times at Meydan do not conflict with the Grand National, with broadcasters offering a “best of both worlds” option for viewers.

The change in date for the Dubai World Cup will see it run on the same day as three major Kentucky Derby prep races in the United States. The Blue Grass Stakes, Santa Anita Derby, and Wood Memorial Stakes will offer winners guaranteed spots in the Triple Crown.

Racecourse Media Group is offering broadcasters the choice of an international feed dedicated to either Aintree or Meydan, with a condensed “best of both” program showcasing both events. Broadcasters from around the world have shown interest in this unique opportunity to cover both races on April 5.
