The National Thoroughbred League (NTL), co-owned by St. Louis native Nelly, will be coming to Metro East in 2025 with an event scheduled at Fairmount Park in Collinsville. The St. Louis Cup is set for July 19 and is one of four events planned for the professional horse racing league, which began in 2023.
NTL’s goal is to transform horse races into track meets by implementing a team structure where teams enter one horse per race and earn points based on results. Co-founder Randall Lane believes this approach will help attract a wider and younger audience to the sport of horse racing.
The NTL’s 2025 schedule includes events at various locations, with the St. Louis Cup taking place at Fairmount Park in Collinsville. The league’s innovative approach to horse racing aims to bring a new level of excitement and engagement to the sport.
