A family from Kerala narrowly escaped the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, thanks to a horse-riding accident that delayed their journey. Sudhas Kannoth, his wife Preethi, and son Mrinal were visiting Kashmir and had just left the area when the attack occurred, resulting in the deaths of 26 people, mostly tourists.
The family had arrived in Srinagar on April 18 and spent three days exploring the region before reaching Pahalgam. On April 21, they went for a horseback ride through a rugged trail, but Sudhas fell off his horse and had to wash himself in a nearby stream. This delay caused them to miss the terror attack that took place shortly after their departure.
Upon returning to Srinagar, the family noticed a heavy military presence and learned of the attack that had occurred in Pahalgam. Sudhas expressed relief at narrowly escaping the tragedy and described the beauty of the area they had visited, despite the harrowing experience.
