Narrow Escape: Kerala Family Avoids Terror Attack in Pahalgam After Horse-Riding Mishap

A family from Kerala narrowly escaped a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, after a horse-riding mishap delayed their plans. Sudhas Kannoth, his wife Preethi, and their son Mrinal were on holiday in Kashmir when the incident occurred. They had arrived in Srinagar on April 18 and proceeded to Pahalgam on April 21 for a horse ride that took an unexpected turn.

While on the horse ride, Sudhas fell off the pony and landed in a mixture of mud and horse dung. After cleaning up in a nearby stream, the family decided to head back instead of continuing sightseeing. Approximately half an hour later, they noticed a rush of military vehicles in the area and were evacuated back to Srinagar. It was only later that they learned of the terror attack that had taken place in Pahalgam.

Sudhas, a writer and motivational trainer, his wife Preethi, a teacher, and their son Mrinal were grateful for the mishap that prevented them from becoming victims of the terror attack. Despite the beauty of the area, Sudhas was too exhausted to continue sightseeing and the family was safely evacuated back to Srinagar.
