Multiple Water Rescues Reported in Kentucky Amid Heavy Rainfall

First responders in Franklin, Kentucky reported multiple water rescues on Saturday due to heavy rain in the area. The Simpson County Office of Emergency Management confirmed that one vehicle was in the water, but no further details on the rescue have been released at this time.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist a vehicle stuck in floodwater on Jackson Bridge Road. Logan County Sheriff Stephen Stratton reported that units worked on a vehicle in flood waters without entrapment, as well as a tractor-trailer blocking a road in Adairville due to entering a ditch at a flooded road. Deputies have also responded to multiple vehicles off of roadways in the area.

Sheriff Stratton emphasized the importance of not attempting to cross floodwaters, as it not only puts individuals at risk but also endangers first responders who may be called to assist. He urged drivers to use common sense, prioritize safety, and heed flood warnings to prevent avoidable rescues. Officials are encouraging caution for drivers who must travel during this time.
