On March 15, Langdale and Ambleside MRT responded to multiple call-outs, including a walker who suffered facial injuries at The Band. With low numbers, they requested help from Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue, who assisted in the rescue. Passers-by also provided care until the team arrived.
Later in the evening, the team responded to a couple caught at Low Pike and a young male who was ill and vomiting at Crinkle Crags. Assistance was requested from Kendal MSRT and a coastguard helicopter was called in to help with the third rescue of the day. The team expressed gratitude to all organizations and individuals who helped ensure the casualties received the best care.
After a long day of rescues, the team members of Ambleside and Langdale MRT were finally back at base just after midnight on March 16. They thanked Kendal MSRT, the North West Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard Rescue Service, local landowners, team members’ families, and all donors to their charity for their support.
