Millbrook Fire Department Rescues Horse Stuck on Its Side

The Millbrook Fire Department in New York came to the rescue of a horse that had gotten stuck on its side. The call came in just before 9 AM, and the fire department was dispatched to help the animal, which was lying on a hill making it difficult for it to right itself. The fire department called in backup from the Patterson Equine Team and Matt’s Auto Body to assist in getting the horse back on its feet.

The horse most likely ended up stuck on its side after attempting a morning roll on the uneven ground. The longer a horse is down, the harder it is for them to get back up on their own. After a few attempts, the horse was successfully rescued and back on its feet by 9:15 AM. The fire department expressed gratitude to Dr. Donoghue and Millbrook Equine for their assistance in the rescue.

In a separate incident, a devastating fire occurred at The Stables at Mirabella in Florida, New York, on February 16, 2025. Multiple fire departments were called to help fight the blaze, but fortunately, the animals in the barn were rescued in time. Additionally, the City of Newburgh Fire Department saved a dog named Lilly from the frozen Hudson River on February 11th, returning her to her owners without injury.
