Maria Anita Andersen Leaves Helgstrand Dressage for New Career Chapter

Danish professional dressage rider Maria Anita Andersen has left Helgstrand dressage to start a new chapter in her career. Andersen began her career working for stallion owner Anders Andersen and made a name for herself aboard Raimondo and Charmer. She worked at various equestrian centers and made her international breakthrough in 2012.

In 2014, Andersen left her position as head Grand Prix rider at Blue Hors to start her own business, House of dressage, near Brædstrup, Denmark. She later joined the Danish Equestrian Federation in Vilhelmsborg to teach courses for riding instructors and rider training. In 2019, Andersen moved to Helgstrand where she worked as a rider and then took over as manager of Helgstrand Academy.

Andersen competed at the World Young Horse Championships in 2023 and continued competing nationally through 2024. She announced her departure from Helgstrand to start a new business in Zealand with her partner Sophie Wilson, who also rode at Helgstrand. The couple, who got engaged in December 2022, are seeking a better work-life balance as they set up their own shop.
