Jesus Manuel Ramos, 31, was arrested by the Graham County Sheriff’s Office after shooting and killing a horse in the 10000 block of W. US Highway 70. Witnesses reported seeing Ramos shoot at the horse with a handgun before leaving in a silver or gray Jeep towards Thatcher, AZ. Law enforcement found spent shell casings and evidence at the scene, as well as damage to a vehicle and a structure where people were present.
Law enforcement located Ramos near the river in Thatcher after receiving information that he might be in the area calling for a ride. Ramos was seen entering a residence on N. Stadium Ave., where he was later taken into custody. Two handguns were found in a tree in the yard of the residence, and a search warrant was executed to seize evidence from the residence and the Jeep.
Ramos was charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, shooting into a structure, and other felonies. The investigation is ongoing, and the Graham County Sheriff’s Office thanked other local law enforcement agencies for their assistance in the case.
