Lost Ark, a Grade 3-placed, multiple stakes winner, will begin his stud career at Northern Dawn Stables in Ontario at a fee of CA$4,000. The 5-year-old son of Violence is seen as attractive for the Ontario breeding market due to his versatility in distance and racing surface, as well as his strong family lineage.
Lost Ark’s first three dams are all stakes winners, with his dam being the A.P. Indy stakes winner Marion Ravenwood. He is a half sibling to Eclipse champion Nest and Santa Anita Handicap winner Idol, both by Curlin. Lost Ark has shown versatility on both dirt and turf, winning races ranging from 5 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/4 miles.
Northern Dawn Stables owner Sherry McLean believes Lost Ark’s pedigree, which includes Violence and Curlin, gives confidence that he will be a successful sire. She emphasizes the need for a precocious and versatile horse for Ontario breeders, and she hopes Lost Ark will pass along these traits to his offspring, particularly those bred in Ontario.
