Local Man Donates $1,000 and Supplies to Nonprofit for Therapeutic Riding Program

Joshua Martin, a second semester student at SKYCTC, collected donations for the local nonprofit New Beginning Therapeutic Ridings as part of a 4H service project. He presented a $1,000 check along with supplies to help take care of the horses at the organization. Martin has been involved with New Beginnings since he was young and credits them with helping him overcome the challenges of cerebral palsy.

New Beginning Therapeutic Ridings’ executive director, Michele Vise, expressed gratitude for Martin’s donation and explained that the money will be used to care for the horses and support volunteers working on the farm. Martin initiated the project in December by going door to door in his community to collect donations. The organization plans to use the funds to ensure the well-being of the horses and to provide resources for volunteers.

Martin’s donation will help New Beginning Therapeutic Ridings continue their mission of providing therapeutic riding services to individuals with disabilities. The organization relies on community support to maintain their programs and care for the horses. Martin’s efforts demonstrate the impact that individuals can have on their communities through service and generosity.
