King Charles Forced to Give Up Beloved Hobbies Due to Injuries

King Charles, a member of the Royal Family, has had to give up some of his favorite hobbies, including horseback riding, due to injuries sustained over the years. Prince Harry mentioned in his memoir Spare that his father, King Charles, had to do headstands prescribed by his physio to alleviate constant pain in his neck and back from old polo injuries.

Queen Elizabeth II, who shared King Charles’ love of horseback riding, continued to ride horses and ponies until her death in 2022. Her stud groom, Terry Pendry, recalled her last riding day in July 2022, where he walked alongside her as she rode, a rare occurrence that hadn’t happened since she was a princess.

Despite having to give up horseback riding, King Charles and Queen Elizabeth II both shared a passion for the sport, with the late Queen never giving up the hobby she loved. The Royal Family’s dedication to horseback riding has been a long-standing tradition that has been passed down through generations.
