Kimblewick Equestrian Centre Completes £285,000 Expansion Project to Open New Arena Next Month

Kimblewick Equestrian Centre has completed a £285,000 expansion project, with hopes to open its new arena next month. The centre, run by Nikkita Gostling for over 15 years, aims to allow more people to take up horse riding with the additional space. Gostling is passionate about getting people to ride horses, especially as many riding schools have been closing down in recent times.

The expansion project was needed to reduce waiting lists and open spaces for children, with the goal of eventually allowing people with their own horses to use the space. Despite completion slightly ahead of schedule due to good weather, there were challenges during the process. Lessons had to continue in a reduced space, and getting horses used to the machinery was a challenge. The new arena is currently being tested by staff and is expected to open to the public by April 1.

Improvements were also made to the seating area of the viewing gallery and car parking facilities, causing the project to run slightly over the original budget. Gostling hopes the new arena will provide more opportunities for people to ride horses and enjoy the facilities at Kimblewick Equestrian Centre.
