German professional dressage rider Kim Brüning has left her employer, Oyster dressage, for a new stable as of March 1, 2025. Brüning had been riding for Oyster dressage since 2022, working with trio Felix-Ferdinand Becker, Esther Maruhn, and Hans Richelshagen. She has competed internationally on horses such as Feivel’s World, Rod Laver, Va Pensiero, Quartier Latin, Liam Neeson, and Ikonic, as well as taking over the ride on Dave from Friederike Kampmeyer.
Brüning’s decision to move to Shereena Satzer’s stable was motivated by her desire to gain more experience and mileage with younger horses, specifically 3 and 4-year-olds, and to compete more frequently. She expressed gratitude for her time with Oyster dressage but felt it was time for a new chapter in her career. A new rider will be allocated for the Oyster horses, with negotiations already underway with a well-known rider. Esther Maruhn, one of Brüning’s former employers, declined to comment on the situation at this time.
Throughout her career, Brüning has progressed from youth level to U25 Grand Prix before turning professional. She has represented both Germany and France in international competitions, including the European Under 25 Championships in Hagen. Brüning’s move to a new stable marks a significant change in her career trajectory as she seeks to further develop her skills and compete with younger horses.
