Kevin Kohmann Shines in Grand Prix Freestyle at 2025 CDI-W Palm Beach Dressage Derby

Kevin Kohmann of the USA delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 CDI-W Palm Beach dressage Derby, earning a new personal best score of 79.24% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. This secured his spot in the 2025 World Cup Final, marking his second consecutive final appearance. Anna Marek, also from the USA, came in second with a score of 77.64%, placing her fourth in the North American League World Cup standings.

The event also served as a qualifier for the US Equestrian Open of dressage, with Germany’s Evelyn Eger and Karen Lipp of the USA currently tied for the top spot with 60 points. Kohmann rode a complex floorplan set to music by Avicii, showcasing a high degree of difficulty that impressed the judges. His success continued as he also won the FEI Intermediate I on another horse, Scala, scoring 70.617%.

Marek, riding Fire Fly, delivered a powerful performance with creative music from the Netflix series “Stranger Things.” She took risks in her test and was pleased with the outcome, expressing pride in her horse’s progress and their partnership. Carier Bergeron also had a successful night, overcoming challenges with one-time changes on her horse Finnländerin and feeling that all the pieces came together in their performance.
